Craft Beers can be not only flavorful but extremely refreshing, especially in hot summer weather. Some of the lighter, mass-produced beers have always promoted the “ice cold” refreshment aspect of their products but there’s not much flavor in these. Craft Beers come in many different styles and there are quite a few that are great warm weather beverages that still pack some flavor.

Golden, Blonde, and Kolsch ales are all great summer beers that are not only very flavorful but refreshing also! Wheat Beers, whether it’s a Bavarian-style Hefeweizen or an American Wheat Beer, are some of the best warm weather beers. One of the more recent styles of Craft Beer are India Pale Lagers (a Lager that has a lot more hops and different varieties than normally used in a Lager) and these are great on a hot summer day. These lighter beers can also have fruit in them and pair well with quite a few summertime meals, especially grilled food. They’re usually a little lower in alcohol as far as Craft Beer styles go and you can enjoy a few when the temperature heats up.

Sour Beers and Wild Beers which have become very popular lately are also great warm weather beers. These beers can vary quite a bit due to each brewer’s creativity and the many different ways that they are produced. Many of these sour beers are aged in wine barrels with fresh fruit added to the barrel. The different varieties of fruit can make for a very complex and refreshing beer. Also, some lower alcohol hoppy beers such as Pale Ale and India Pale Ale have been great summer choices for some time and still are great go-to beers. Enjoy the summer and stay refreshed! Cheers!
