Did Robert Mueller fulfill his duty to provide a full and complete conclusion to the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election? That is, after all, what he was hired to do. He had 22 months to do so with the assistance of numerous intelligence analysts and forensic accountants, and 19 Democratic lawyers. They issued 2,800 subpoenas and 500 search warrants, interviewed 500 witnesses, requested evidence from 13 foreign governments, employed 40 FBI agents and spent tens of millions. I heard numbers between $12 million and $35 million, but some of it was from the mainstream media, so you have to take that with a grain of salt.
But even with the deck stacked, they couldn’t find one iota of evidence of collusion with the Russians. Mueller deliberately passed the buck on to Attorney General William Barr, probably to satisfy his 19 angry anti-Trump lawyers. Unfair! Foul! Give back half your paycheck – you only did half the job. Doesn’t it make you wonder if we wasted all this time and money and manpower on nothing?
And what evidence did they have to open the Mueller investigation? This whole mess was started by an unverified and unsubstantiated dossier prepared by Christopher Steele. It didn’t matter that it basically wasn’t true, and was used as evidence to be granted not one, but four FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Application) warrants to spy on then-candidate Donald Trump and his campaign staff. The FBI was investigating Trump for months prior to the Mueller appointment. As FBI’s (Peter Strzok) said, “There’s no ‘There’ there.” In other words, no evidence. Nothing to tie Trump to Russian interference. But they forged ahead anyway.
But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that the mainstream media is responsible for lying to the American people for two and a half years about Donald Trump. Forty-two percent believed that Trump colluded with the Russians, with not one bit of evidence to prove it. Not one bit of evidence. Let that sink in. Where do you think they got that idea? The mainstream media, of course.
The people believed what they read in the paper and heard on TV. I think more than anything that the media owes the people a huge apology. They knowingly lied to the people to push their narrative. One “reporter” said one thing, and then they all jumped on the band wagon, and they’re still doing that! For the past 22 months, they’ve been saying, “Wait for the Mueller report,” but now that the William Barr summary of the Mueller report is out, they’ve moved the goalpost. Now all of a sudden, it doesn’t matter what the report says, they have their lies, and they’re sticking to them.
Shame on them! Whatever happed to investigative journalism? The media is beating a dead horse, and the public now knows it. Nobody trusts the mainstream media anymore.
