Exer Urgent Care is offering onsite testing for coronavirus at various locations across Southern California, including its Stevenson Ranch location.
To better serve its patients, Exer is now offering drive-up testing, where patients with a referral through the “VirtualCare by Exer” platform, an online urgent care service that provides real-time access to a doctor via video chat, can access testing.
Patients need a prescription in order to be tested, which can be obtained after an online evaluation via the VirtualCare platform.
Through the platform, which can be accessed via smartphone, tablet or computer, patients do not need an appointment and Exer’s team of medical providers can provide them with quick diagnosis, advice and treatment, with prescribed medications sent directly to the pharmacy of their choice.
Patients can also be screened for COVID-19 via the platform, answering questions about risk factors and symptoms to determine whether testing is recommended. If a test is in order, patients are expected to receive a prescription and directive to report to their nearest Exer clinic.
Exer has secured a substantial number of testing kits, which are set to be offered while supplies last to those who meet the testing criteria, and has partnered with a lab capable of processing results within 24 to 48 hours.
Exer’s SCV urgent care facilities also remain open, though new measures have been put in place to increase patient safeguards against COVID-19, such as increasing disinfectant procedures, providing masks to patients, welcoming them directly into an examination room or asking them to wait in their car until they are called, as well as self-swab practices during testing.
Those experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 are asked to call into VirtualCare to begin the screening process, as only those with a prescription can be tested.
