It is our pleasure to offer our unequivocal support for Tony Watson as a candidate for the College of the Canyons board of trustees. As readers of the Signal, we are thrilled that Tony has earned your publication’s endorsement. In several ways, Tony Watson has shown he has the expertise, empathy and leadership skills to become a successful trustee.

We have known Tony and his family for close to 20 years and know Tony, a long-time Santa Clarita Valley resident, as a family- and community-oriented man. As a longtime friend, we have experienced Tony can be relied upon in times of crisis and in times of celebration. Tony has shown himself to be a good friend, husband and father, while still finding time to involve himself in our community. He has been an excellent role model for his two children and taught them the value of helping others and the importance of honesty, loyalty and commitment. Whether Tony adopts a cause or pursues a new venture, he remains highly committed. Tony has also positively influenced local youth by volunteering his time to coach sports and has always demonstrated a deep interest in improving the lives of SCV residents.

On a professional level, Tony is a creative problem solver and notices what others overlook. Tony’s work ethic, energy, creativity and problem-solving skills set him apart.

Tony is a very humble and generous person and always makes time for those around him. He is a great listener, and his sensibility to others’ needs will make him an effective community college board member. We are confident that Tony’s service on the board will be a tremendous asset to COC and the community as a whole.
