Residents gathered at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center on Thursday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. to participate in the “World’s Largest Swim Lesson,” where children were split into groups to learn swimming techniques. The initiative is a global effort designed to “raise awareness about the importance of teaching children to swim and prevent drowning,” according to a city of Santa Clarita news release.
