I would have previously been in agreement with Walt McKee’s Aug. 14 letter objecting to the need to have duck crossing neon street signs on Newhall Ranch Road until the recent day when I witnessed two adult geese leading a line of 11 chicks across the road during a heavy travel period. Motorists were even providing hand signs out their windows to caution approaching drivers who might not have them in view. Fortunately, nobody overreacted and all ended well.
