The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office filed four felony charges against a Los Angeles woman accused of fleeing from law enforcement officers with young children unsecured in the car.

Lynette Robinson, 32, pleaded not guilty Monday to circumstances likely to cause great bodily injury or harm, in connection to an incident Thursday, according to the complaint filed Monday in L.A. County Superior Court in San Fernando.

The investigation began after the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received a report of a 911 call regarding a family disturbance in Canyon Country.

Upon arrival, SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies were told the informant’s ex-girlfriend had taken their 1-year-old child and refused to return home, according to an email Monday from Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies identified their suspect as Robinson, who allegedly left with the 1-year-old, and three other children aged 4 to 8.

“Robinson was reportedly driving at high speeds exceeding 90 mph, and none of the children were secured in car seats, three of whom were legally required to be due to their age and weight,” Miller wrote, citing the initial investigation.

Robinson eventually got into a crash “on or near the (Interstate) 210 Freeway,” according to Miller’s email.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, she said, adding that first responders did not report finding any child car seats.

“She was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail,” Miller added. “The case remains under active investigation.”

Court records indicate Robinson was released from custody Tuesday, according to courthouse records.

Robinson is due back in court in December.
