I understand many people do not like President Donald Trump. For a while I didn’t like him, either. However, you cannot argue that he is doing what he said he would do and he’s solving problems. You may not think the problems he’s solving are actual problems and you may not like his method, but those points are not germane to this letter.
What I would like to ask is why California voters continue to vote for leaders who do not solve any problems? There are so many problems we have in California that are ignored or made worse by those we have voted into office. K-12 education in this state is horrific and getting worse. It’s not for a lack of money. I know there are other reasons for this and some of them might even be outside of anyone’s immediate control, but so what? Make the problem less of a problem! If Mississippi can do it, why can’t we? See: theconversation.com/mississippis-education-miracle-a-model-for-global-literacy-reform-251895.
We have an acute lack of housing, especially affordable housing. The reason is because it’s so expensive to build in this state. Solve the problem!
We have a massive homeless problem in this state that is making the quality of life worse for everyone. Despite tens of billions of dollars spent on the homeless bureaucracy, the problem continues to get worse.
Energy is extremely expensive in this state. Our gas prices are the highest in the nation, including Hawaii. This does not impact me at all, but it impacts the poor and working middle class who have to drive a lot because they want affordable housing. I know many of you hate gas and hate energy that isn’t brought to us by the Sun God or the Wind Fairy, but aren’t we trying to help out the everyday guy and gal with affordable energy?
The fire we had a year ago is a classic example of California leadership failing the people. Between permitting nightmares and environmental issues and even the Coastal Commission, it seems like the goal is for these people NOT to rebuild.
There are many other examples but hopefully the point is made. Our governor brags about how we’re the fifth largest economy in the word. Yeah, so what? We were that before you were elected. What have you done for us lately? Leaders like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass are incompetent, but the voters have spoken. Is it too much to ask them to solve a problem or two? Is it too much to ask Democrat voters in this state to at least elect people who want and are able to solve problems?
