News release
Local author, educator and yoga therapist Susan Chapman has released a new book, “Being: The Transformative Power of Practice (Being),” which the author describes as “a profound exploration of how a consistent, mindful yoga practice can awaken resilience, self-awareness and healing in everyday life.”
Drawing on more than three decades of teaching, mentoring and study, Chapman blends the wisdom of yoga philosophy with modern advances and real-world experience to guide readers toward living with greater clarity and compassion, said a news release from Chapman. “Being offers a framework for transformation that is both accessible and deeply experiential, inviting readers to explore presence as the foundation of personal growth.”
“Practice is how we remember who we truly are,” Chapman said in the release. “Being is an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with the innate intelligence of the body, mind and spirit.”
Chapman is a certified yoga therapist adjunct instructor in the School of Personal and Professional Learning at College of the Canyons, where she teaches yoga for older adults. She also serves as faculty and mentor at Loyola Marymount University’s Center for Religion and Spirituality, educating future yoga therapists, according to the release.
In addition to her teaching, Chapman has written and produced guided meditations for Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey, several of which were featured on “Oprah’s Favorite Things.”
“Being: The Transformative Power of Practice” is available where books are sold online.
