JCI Santa Clarita hosted a sold-out awards and installation night on Feb. 6 at Olive Branch Theatricals, bringing together community leaders, members, and supporters to celebrate a year of service and officially install the organization’s new leadership, according to a news release from the organization.
The evening opened with remarks from Rep. George Whitesides, D-Agua Dulce, and Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo, D-Chatsworth, who spoke to the positive impact JCI Santa Clarita and its young leaders have on the community, the release said. Both highlighted the organization’s role in developing civic-minded leaders and delivering meaningful community projects across the Santa Clarita Valley.
The event recognized a year of impactful community work and honored 10 individuals and projects with special awards for outstanding leadership, service and dedication, the release said. Awardees were recognized for their contributions to JCI Santa Clarita’s community projects and ongoing commitment to service.
Santa Clarita Mayor Pro Tem Patsy Ayala formally installed the 2026 board of directors. Councilman Jason Gibbs installed new JCI Santa Clarita President Kari McCoy, and delivered remarks offering his encouragement and support as she begins her term as the 2026 president.
In addition to the annual awards, two members were presented with JCI Senatorships, an honor awarded to individuals who demonstrate long-standing commitment, leadership and service to Junior Chamber International.
“This evening reflected the strength of our members and the community that supports them,” McCoy said in the news release. “The recognition of our leaders and the encouragement from our elected officials reinforce the importance of investing in service-driven leadership.”
