There’s a new little princess in our family. Baby Iliana arrived on August 24 and weighed in at 10 lbs. 1 oz., and 21 inches long.
My beautiful niece, Jessica, is doing well after being in labor for many, many hours. Iliana’s mommy and daddy, are so thrilled to finally have her with them.
My brother, a first-time grandfather, is so excited that he already can’t wait to watch her grow. The joy in his voice is contagious. I’m so very happy for all of them. I just wish I lived closer to be able to go see the little one. For now, I’ll just have to settle for cell phone photos.
Great-grandpa will be visiting the new family this week. How wonderful to see your children’s children having children! This makes 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild for Dad. Dad will begin his travels this week to see my sister out in Tennessee, and then they will drive out to the Chicago area to see my brother and his family.
Next up is my other niece, Kimberly. Her baby is due in the next couple of weeks and she’s also expecting a girl. I’m all ready for this one. She’s close enough to visit. Perhaps Dad will be returning from his trip just in time to head on over to see this new princess and great-grandbaby number 15.
