Wanted woman found, arrested by local detectives

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Detectives arrested one of “SCV’s Most Wanted” this weekend.

According to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Officials, Sandra Moreno, 36, was arrested Saturday when the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Special Assignment Team (SAT) were investigating a crime tip about Moreno.

Through SAT’s Canyon Country investigation, deputies were able to locate and arrest Moreno.

Moreno was wanted on a $150,000 warrant out of San Fernando Courthouse for Felony Identity Theft and Misdemeanor Possession of Narcotics.

Sheriff’s Detectives first asked for the public’s help in locating Moreno Nov. 14.

Moreno was originally arrest Sept. 2, 2015 when a sheriff’s deputy stopped a car she was a passenger in and conducted a narcotics investigation, where marijuana, heroin and narcotics paraphernalia were found.

Checks written to and from carious people and fraudulent social security cards were also found in Moreno’s possession, according to officials.  Both Moreno and the driver of the vehicle were arrested.

Moreno made bail but failed to return for her court date Oct. 11, prompting an investigation into her whereabouts.
