A school shooting reported at North Park Elementary School occurred in San Bernardino not in Santa Clarita in the Saugus Union School District.
“North Park Elementary School in the Saugus Union School District was not impacted by this unfortunate this event,” Principal Sandy Brunet said. “We are notifying our parents via a Constant Contact email that all students are safe.”
North Park Elementary School said it did receive some calls from concerned parents, but informed them that the reported shooting was at a different North Park Elementary.
The school district’s office is also sharing news and information that students at the SUSD school are safe on social media.
“We have sent out a Facebook message on our Facebook page and have copied that same message to the local school forums on Facebook and any comment on the news pages,” SUSD Public Information Officer Lee Morrell said.
According to reports from the San Bernardino Police Department, gunfire broke out at the San Bernardino school at 5378 North H Street shortly after 10:30 a.m.
Two adults were killed in the shooting and two individuals, possibly students, were injured and transported to local hospital in unknown conditions, according to San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan.
