Officials discovered an arsenal of illegal firearms on Saturday after responding to a call of an attempted suicide in a Saugus home.
“Three guns were illegally possessed,” said Sgt. Brandon Barclay with the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
The three illegal guns were the .50 caliber rifle, the AR-15 and a 12-gauge Benelli Shotgun.
Sheriff’s deputies discovered the firearms after responding to a call where two male adults were threatening to commit suicide. Upon entering the home, deputies discovered a gun had been discharged multiple times into the ground.
Following this discovery, a weapon’s investigation was conducted. At least 15 firearms were found including a .50 caliber rifle, numerous semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, pistols and two assault rifles.
The two men are undergoing a psychological evaluation and can be arrested for felony charges pending that evaluation.
The sergeant was not expecting there to be any chance the two men will be getting their guns back.
“They’re never going to get them back,” he said.
