As the World Police and Fire Games make their way to Los Angeles County next week, several events will be hosted in the Santa Clarita Valley.
While the city welcomes the officers and firefighters, they will have to temporarily close several streets to accommodate the first of the events.
On Sunday, Aug. 6, the area between Anza Drive, Avenue Hopkins and Avenue Tibbitts will be closed for a cycling event.
Drivers will not be permitted to turn from Avenue Scott onto Anza Drive or Avenue Rockefeller. Also, drivers will not be allowed to turn from Avenue Stanford or Avenue Rockefeller onto Avenue Hopkins.
Due to the event, this area will be closed from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This is the only of the Police and Fire Games events that will necessitate road closures, according to the city.
The criterium, a circuit course bicycle race, takes place at 9 a.m. at 25128 Tibbits Avenue in Valencia on Aug. 6.
