Competitors from around the world converged on Castaic Lake early Monday morning to compete in a triathlon for the 2017 World Police and Fire Games.

Athletes were tested over a one-mile swim around the lake’s Lower Lagoon, 25-mile bike ride up Lake Hughes Road, and a 10-kilometer road run. Competitors were broken down by age group, and competed either in a team relay race, or the individual triathlon.
