There’s nothing Victoria Parsons loves more than cupcakes.
The Valencia resident and Jill’s Cake Creations cake decorator considers the confections her specialty and makes the most of every holiday and special event by whipping up a batch of themed baked goods.
Just in time for this season, Parsons was featured on Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family,” where she taught hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Mark Steines how to make her specialty ornament cupcakes.
A few weeks prior, the television show posted on their Facebook account calling for viewers to submit their homemade holiday decorations for a chance to be featured in an episode.
An avid watcher of the show and a cupcake enthusiast, Parsons was excited to send over photos of her favorite goodies.
Soon after, she got a call from a producer inviting her onto the show.
Parsons went to Universal Studios on Tuesday to tape the episode, which aired Wednesday and Thursday this week.
A baker and decorator for nearly two decades, nine years of which have been spent at Jill’s Cake Creations, Parson said it was fun to share some of her trade secrets with the hosts and viewers.
“Sometimes what we do can seem a little intimidating,” Parsons said. “It’s neat to show people tips. There are simple little things to you can do to make something look cute.”
Her secret?
“Sparkle and glitter makes everything better,” she said.
This appearance was not the first time Parsons’ baking skills have made it on television. She previously served as a baker’s assistant on “Cupcake Wars” on the Food Network.
With this T.V. experience under her belt, Parsons hopes to one day have her own show on the Food Network.
