Regarding The Signal’s Nov. 25 story “Supervisor addresses foster crisis with adoption awareness,” Supervisor Barger, you’re looking in the wrong place.
Start by re-training the social workers who investigate adoptive parents and homes. They are the slowest-moving people in the whole system.
There’s a lot of people wanting to adopt, but social workers are always too busy complaining about overwhelming work loads.
If these social workers are overwhelmed, they need to find another profession! Put these children first, not you!
You all know why you became social workers, so push through that childhood dilemma and serve these children and adoptive parents. They both deserve more!
