Newhall woman arrested in alleged knife-chasing incident

Deputies arrested a Newhall woman on an assault charge Sunday morning after she was accused of chasing her neighbor with a knife, officials said.

Shortly after midnight Saturday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were called to an address in Newhall for reports of a person with a knife.

“Deputies responded Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m. to the 24800 block of Railroad Avenue, (in) Newhall, regarding a person with a knife call,” Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

“There was a dispute between the victim and the suspect – they are neighbors,” Miller said. “The suspect allegedly produced a knife, pointed it at the victim, and chased him.”

A 45-year-old woman who works in retail was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon charges.

She is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court Tuesday.
