I just read Richard Myers’ “Pedestrians Share Responsibility” comments in letters to the editor (March 21). My wife and I also grew up in Chicago in the 1950s and 1960s, but we remember the saying as, “The pedestrian is always right.” However, I too believe everyone should be aware of their surroundings and stay safe.
