Firefighters dispatched to a brush fire shortly before noon Friday near the Valencia Commerce Center extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.
More than a dozen firefighting units from three battalions, including water-dumping helicopters and bulldozers, responded to Highway 126 and the commerce center shortly before 11:15 a.m. Friday.
“Engine 76 reported a half acre of fire, creeping along,” said Sky Cornell, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
No structures were threatened.
Within 15 minutes, firefighters cancelled all but two fire engine teams, Cornell said.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol also responded.
“The location we received as near the Travel Village,” CHP Officer Josh Greengard said, referring to the RV park on Highway 126.
At 11:45 a.m., the fire was reported out.
