Pupils in the Newhall School District enjoy a Christmas vacation of almost three weeks. They also get four days off for Thanksgiving. They get a “spring break” for eight days and days off for “fall.” They get out of school on Fridays at noon.
I asked a couple of neighbor boys, 11th graders, who we fought in World War II. They didn’t know. They did not know what years the war occurred. They did not know what war was next (Korea). They knew nothing about our Civil War.
