“Steve Sturgeon has been a longtime supporter of Santa Clarita Valley schools, as well as a successful entrepreneur in our community. His support of the nonprofit community is also part of what makes this community so great.”

— Richard Budman, Signal Publisher/Owner

Steve Sturgeon, a local small-business owner and entrepreneur, served as board president for the William S. Hart Union High School District while school officials made the final preparations for their state-of-the-art new campus in Castaic.

An active member of the business community, Sturgeon has also been a noted philanthropist, earning one of the SCV’s most time-honored recognitions, the SCV Man of the Year Award, in 2013.

His support has also extended to the SCV Child & Family Center, the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, Boys & Girls Club and the Betty Ferguson Foundation, to name a few. While he can point to two decades of leadership of the Hart School District overseeing the educational outcomes for tens of thousands of junior high and high school students, Castaic High School is a school campus that’ll be part of his legacy of educational leadership in the SCV for decades to come.
