A 38-year-old Canyon Country man was arrested on suspicion of making a false report to deputies that his girlfriend hit him.
The incident was reported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Wednesday night on the 20400 block of Soledad Canyon Road regarding a possible domestic abuse call.
“He allegedly called 9-1-1 around 11 p.m. Wednesday night and said his girlfriend hit him,” said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station. “Upon deputies’ arrival to (the home) … they learned it was a verbal argument over a phone and the suspect called 9-1-1 to get a quicker response from law enforcement.”
The suspect was arrested and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station a half-hour later on suspicion of reporting a false emergency to a dispatcher, a misdemeanor.
