Rep. Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, released the following statement after the FY24 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill was reported favorably to the full House by the Appropriations Committee.
“I’m proud to support this year’s Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill for the simple, yet all-important reason that it fully funds the benefits earned by our veterans,” Garcia said in the release. “But the VA needs to do better. I get phone calls every day from fellow veterans in my district, and their message is consistent and clear: The VA is failing us.”
The statement added: “Veterans should never have to call their congressman in the first place to get the service they deserve. I will continue to demand better performance from the department that is given the sacred responsibility of caring for those who have done so much to protect us.”
