In 2016 Scott Wilk, then serving in the state Assembly, authored a bill to allow beer and wine to be served at barber shops and beauty salons and it was signed by the governor. Because of a technicality, beauty salons were not included. Mr. Wilk, who is now a state senator, just authored a bill to include beauty salons and it was signed by the governor.
I can name 10 major problems facing California and its 40 million people, and serving beer and wine at barber shops and beauty salons is not one of them. If this is the only problem Mr. Wilk and the state Senate can solve, then we are in trouble.
