A single-vehicle traffic collision that left at least one person dead resulted in a brush fire near the Interstate 5 and Interstate 405 interchange on Tuesday afternoon just south of the Santa Clarita Valley, according to officials with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
The vehicle went over the side of the freeway around 3:16 p.m., according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez with the CHP.
Officers were dispatched at 3:17 p.m. and arrived a few minutes later, according to Burgos-Lopez.
A call for fire happened at around 3:49 p.m., Burgos-Lopez said.
Forward progress of the fire was stopped at 4:12 p.m., according to the Watch Duty app.
There is no additional information at the time of this publication, according to Burgos-Lopez.
