A 40-year-old Valencia man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substances in a jail facility and an outstanding felony no-bail warrant for his arrest on the 26400 block of Fairgate Avenue in Canyon Country on Friday night, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
A caller reported that a man was seen looking into parked vehicles and residences, according to an email statement by Shirley Miller, spokeswoman with the station.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a man matching the physical and clothing description provided by the caller and then contacted the individual, Miller’s statement said.
He was also found to be in possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and he was found to have an outstanding warrant, according to Miller’s statement.
While being transported and booked into the station jail, the suspect stated he had nothing else illegal in his possession, the statement said.
During a subsequent search, deputies discovered he was in possession of methamphetamine, and the suspect was additionally charged with felony possession of a controlled substance in a jail facility where he remains in custody without bail as of the publication of this story, according to the statement.
