A nurse was hit with an open hand by a 31-year-old Los Angeles transient woman on the 23800 block of McBean Parkway on Monday morning, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies were dispatched to the call for service around 9:50 a.m. and were informed the nurse was hit in the face when the suspect was leaving the emergency room at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, according to Lt. Dustin Wiemann with the station.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of battery and there were no major injuries reported, Wiemann said.
The time of the arrest was 10:30 a.m., according to Wiemann.
Patrick Moody, public information officer with Henry Mayo, wrote in a statement that the hospital would be unable to provide additional information.
“We are unable to comment on law enforcement matters. What we can say is we always take immediate action to address any behavior that threatens the safety and security of our staff members,” Moody’s statement said.
There is no additional information at the time of this publication, Wiemann said.
