A man, approximately in his 20s, was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday evening in Newhall, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station official.
Deputies were dispatched to Railroad Ave about 100 yards away from the Via Princessa overpass at approximately 7:15 p.m. in response to a single vehicle collision, Deputy Robert Jensen, a spokesman for the station said on Tuesday in a phonecall with The Signal.
Upon arrival, first responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies found a man involved in a solo motorcycle crash, Jensen said.
The man was transported to the hospital in unknown condition at 7:26 p.m., according to L.A. County Fire Department Public Information Officer Fred Fielding.
The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, Jensen added.
According to preliminary information in the investigation, speed and driving under the influence do not appear to be factors in the cause of the collision, Jensen said.
The person’s identity has not been released pending next of kin.
