California Highway Patrol officers from the Newhall-area Office helped put an Idaho fugitive in custody to face charges Friday.

Their suspect was a doctor from Boise accused of sexually assaulting a patient last month before he was arrested in Castaic with a no-bail warrant, according to statements from officials in Idaho and Sheriff’s Department records.

CHP officers reported Alexander Brent Wills, a Boise, Idaho, resident, was suspected of speeding around 2:23 p.m. Friday while he was driving southbound on Interstate 5, north of Lake Hughes Road, in a gray GMC Yukon.

Officers attempted to pull Wills over, but he refused and a short pursuit began, according to a text message from Carlos Burgos-Lopez, a spokesman for the Newhall-area Office.

The driver came to a stop near the Lake Hughes Road exit.

Officers initially arrested Wells on a suspicion of a misdemeanor, evading arrest, when officers then learned he had a no-bail arrest warrant out of Idaho for sexual assault.

A news release from the city of Boise confirmed Wills’ charges and that his medical license had been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Boise Police Department began investigating Wills on Sept. 2, after a woman whom police officers identified as a patient made “a call for service regarding a report of a sexual assault.”

The department’s Special Victims Unit immediately began an investigation, according to the news release issued by the city. “Evidence indicates the suspect, identified as Alexander Wills, made aggressive physical contact with the victim, and committed forcible penetration by use of a foreign object.”

He was first arrested Sept. 30. Ada County Sheriff’s Office records indicate a felony no-bail warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday.

Wills is still in custody at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles until a court date he has scheduled for Tuesday at L.A. County Superior Court in San Fernando. He also has a custody hold on his record from the Idaho charge.
