Deputies arrest suspect in ‘prowler’ investigation

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials confirmed one man was in custody Monday afternoon after they received a number of calls about a possible package thief. 

Online reports indicated the station had already responded as of 12:39 p.m. to the 21800 block of Peppercorn Drive in Saugus, regarding a possible incident involving a person chasing another person with an object.   

Deputy Mariela Picard said the chase involved a person who thought they saw “a prowler” stealing a package, and the station had received multiple calls about the incident.  

Deputy Nicholas Hoslet confirmed one person had been taken into custody, but neither the person’s name nor booking charge were immediately available.
