Deputies: Man hit by vehicle after argument, suspect at large

A man was hit by vehicle after an altercation with someone on the 23600 block of Newhall Avenue on Saturday evening, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. 

The altercation happened around 8:50 p.m. and was in the parking lot of Las Originales in Newhall, according to Sgt. Justin Boosalis with the station. 

Boosalis said the informant called deputies saying her brother was run over by a vehicle after the altercation. 

The two subjects fled the scene in a Jeep Cherokee in an unknown direction, and the victim hid behind a parked vehicle, according to observations at the scene. 

The victim was transported to the hospital due to his injuries, according to observations from the scene. 

The suspect remained at large Sunday morning, and it is not confirmed whether the victim was run over intentionally, Boosalis said. 

There is no additional information at the time of this publication, Boosalis said.
