Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies confirmed one person was killed after a collision with a vehicle at 10:52 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Newhall Metrolink Station.
The collision is being investigated as “an unfortunate accident” at this time, according to SCV Sheriff’s Station Sgt. Mark Perkins, who leads the station’s Traffic Unit.
Sheriff’s officials said the decedent’s name was not available pending the notification of the next of kin.
L.A. County Fire Department officials said they were dispatched to Market Street in Newhall at 10:56 p.m. and on the scene by 11, regarding the report of the traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Howard Tieu of the Fire Department’s media information line indicated two patients were taken to the hospital by paramedics. They were both transported by 11:20 p.m.
Station officials indicated there was only one person struck in the crash, a woman who died hours later at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
There were no arrests made as a result of the incident, which is still under investigation.
