A person has died following a head-on traffic collision on west Sierra Highway and north Vasquez Canyon Road just north of Canyon Country in the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to an official with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
The initial call reported that two Ford Mustangs were involved in a traffic collision at 5:37 a.m., according to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez with the CHP.
There was one fatality and one person transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Burgos-Lopez said.
The area was fully reopened to traffic as of 10:30 a.m., Burgos-Lopez said.
