Stevenson Ranch native Hunter Greene made his postseason debut on Tuesday for the Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium facing off against the boys in blue.
In the end, Greene pitched three innings and allowed five runs while striking out four in the loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Reds’ first postseason appearance since 2020.
In the first inning, designated hitter Shohei Ohtani hit a leadoff home run off Grene that kicked off the Dodgers’ offense in L.A.’s 10-5 victory over the Reds in the first game of the National League Wild Card Series.
Greene, who grew up in Stevenson Ranch, attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks and was selected second overall pick in the 2017 amateur draft.
In recent years, Greene has made multiple visits back home to give back to the community, most recently in January, when he and his team donated cleats in a giveaway following the Los Angeles County fires.
In the 2025 season, Green went 7-4 with a 2.76 record in 19 starts and was named an MLB All-Star for the first time in 2024 as a replacement for Hart alum Tyler Glasnow, who pitches for the Dodgers.
The Reds and Dodgers face off again in game two of the NL Wild Card Series Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Dodger Stadium.
