At least one person was killed in a traffic collision in Saugus at approximately 6:46 a.m. Saturday morning, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department official.
First responders were dispatched to a single vehicle collision involving a pole shortly before 7 a.m. near Bouquet Canyon Road and David Way, said Sgt. Robert Garcia, a spokesman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
According to Jonathan Torres, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, upon arrival two patients were trapped inside of the vehicle involved in the crash, and another was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
The crash prompted two L.A. County Fire Department helicopters to respond to the scene and following the extrication of the two trapped patients, they were transported to a hospital in unknown condition, Torres said.
Garcia couldn’t provide information on the circumstances regarding the crash as deputies were still at the scene of the incident as of 10 a.m. Saturday conducting their investigation and no additional information was available.
