A dump truck fell on its side after a single-vehicle traffic collision on the southbound Interstate 5 near the Lyons Avenue overpass in the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to an official with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.

Officers received the call at 3:58 a.m. and were dispatched to the scene, where the truck was blocking three lanes of traffic, Burgos-Lopez said.

It was a five-axle dump truck and required a heavy-duty tow truck, Burgos-Lopez said.

The traffic was backed up from Magic Mountain Parkway with officers issuing a SigAlert at 4:18 a.m. to block the No. 3, 4 and 5 lanes.

Officers contacted the driver after he was walking down the right shoulder and brought him back to the scene, Burgos-Lopez said.

There were no injuries reported, according to Burgos-Lopez.

There is no additional information at the time of this publication, according to Burgos-Lopez.
