A William S. Hart High School student was transported to the hospital Thursday morning as a precaution following a medical emergency, according to officials.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched to the school’s campus located on the 24800 block of Newhall Avenue at 10:12 a.m., following a report of a medical emergency, said Howard Tieu, a spokesman with the agency.
Reports indicated that a person on campus had overdosed.
After speaking to campus administrators, it was determined that a student took Benadryl and vomited, according to a William S. Hart Union High School District official.
Paramedics transported the student to a nearby hospital a little over 15 minutes after first responders’ initial dispatch time, according to officials.
