Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a man on suspicion of assault Friday in Canyon Country, according to Sheriff’s Department arrest records.

Deputies responded to a 911 call from the 27300 block of Rock Rose Lane shortly before 9 p.m., according to an email Monday from Deputy Mariela Picard, a spokeswoman for the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim, who stated the suspect pointed a knife at her while standing,” according to Picard’s email. “The suspect (a 47-year-old Palmdale man) reportedly ordered the victim to move out of his way as he held the knife toward her.”

The alleged victim indicated that she was afraid she was going to be stabbed, so she fled to a nearby neighbor’s home, Picard said.

Deputies subsequently located and arrested the suspect on suspicion of the alleged assault. He was booked at Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station and held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

He was still in custody as of this story’s publication, according to L.A. County Sheriff’s Department records available online, which indicated he’s due in court Tuesday.
