A dog that was in a storm drain last week at the 22500 block of Circle J Ranch Road has not been located, according to an official with the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control.
The dog was believed to be trapped in the storm drain and, after an extensive search, L.A. County Fire Department personnel could not locate it.
“I received reports that after an extensive search there was no animal found/located. DACC is mindful that if there was an animal in the storm drain it might have been scared away and if any further reports of a dog is reported at that location or anywhere near it, officers will respond accordingly with the resources to retrieve the dog,” Christopher Valles, public information officer of the Animal Care and Control Department said in a written statement on Monday.
An individual on Facebook wrote a post late last week saying they found a small dog that was near Circle J Ranch, but it was not confirmed whether it was the same dog. The Signal’s attempts to contact the person who created the post have been unsuccessful.
