L.A. County Fire and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station personnel confirmed Monday an emergency helicopter transport was requested for a child having a medical emergency in a Valencia neighborhood.

The nature of the child’s injuries was not immediately available, according to media representatives from the L.A. County Fire Department, who confirmed the airlift was requested at 3:47 p.m. for the 29000 block of Corta Azulejo, which appears to be an undeveloped property in the Tesoro community. The emergency occurred in the neighborhood across Copper Hill Drive from that location, near Rio Norte Junior High School.

Sheriff’s and Fire Department personnel were seen preparing for the transport on Village Circle, adjacent to West Creek Park.
The helicopter was on the scene eight minutes after it was requested, according to Kaitlyn Aldana of the Fire Department. The helicopter was seen making the transport at 4:30 p.m.

There was no access to the area where the incident occurred as SCV Sheriff’s Station officials had cleared the way for emergency vehicles.
There was no criminal activity associated with the report or reported in the area, according to a station official.
This is a breaking news story, and more information will be added as it becomes available.
