Amber Alert issued for child abduction in SCV

An Amber Alert has been issued for two children who were abducted by their mother Wednesday in Santa Clarita, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. 

Officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said the abduction occurred after the parents went to court and the father was granted full custody. 

The mother did not agree, took the children and fled the scene, according to Sgt. Mark Perkins with the station. 

Perkins said that the mother’s phone was pinged in Mexico, which is where they are believed to be as of the publication of this story. 

They were last seen in Santa Clarita around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in a black 2018 Kia Sorento with the plates 8LRF237. 

The location of where they were last seen was at River Circle and Soledad Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol’s X account. 

Cristal Ordonez is 45 years old, is 5 feet and 135 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. 

The children are a 12-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl.
