A semi-truck caused lanes to be blocked for about four hours after a traffic collision in which the truck rolled onto its side on Interstate 5 near Vista Del Lago on Thursday morning, according to officials with the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office.
The call initially came in as multiple semi-trucks involved in a traffic collision with one big rig overturned on its side, blocking all southbound lanes approaching the Santa Clarita Valley.
Officers were dispatched at 10:46 a.m., Burgos-Lopez said.
However, Burgos-Lopez confirmed it was only one semi-truck and one vehicle was hit with debris.
Burgos-Lopez added that the high winds were the cause of the crash.
There were no transports or injuries, but the passenger of the semi-truck had complaints of pain, Burgos-Lopez said in a phone interview on Thursday afternoon.
Two lanes reopened at 12:20 p.m. and all lanes were open around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, Burgos-Lopez said.
