A William S. Hart Union High School District official said on Tuesday that 14 bus assistants will not be laid off, but extra assignments they are given will be cut.

Debbie Dunn, the district’s director of communication and community engagement, stated on Tuesday that the agenda item is set to cut extra work assignments for 14 bus assistants but not their entire job role.  It will not impact their regular bus assignments, according to Dunn.

The agenda item for Wednesday’s board meeting stated that the district was being forced to eliminate about 14 classified positions due to lack of work, funds, and/or expiration of specially funded programs.
