The Newhall man picked up on suspicion of murder last week was arrested again Monday morning, according to arrest records with L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

Detectives with the Homicide Bureau on Tuesday indicated that no information would be released at this time, as the arrests are part of an active investigation, and any information released could jeopardize the investigation.

This time, Alejandro Trujillo, 19, of Newhall, was taken into custody by detectives from the Homicide Bureau at 10 a.m. Monday, according to LASD records.

He’s being held in lieu of $2 million bail for a second time in two weeks, with an appearance for Trujillo scheduled at the San Fernando Courthouse on Wednesday.

Detectives did not want to confirm any aspects of the arrest Tuesday.

Trujillo previously was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 27 by the department’s Community Partnerships, or COPS, Bureau. He was released two days later with the reason listed in the LASD custody records as there were insufficient grounds to file a criminal complaint.

LASD and court records indicate past run-ins with deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Trujillo was arrested Jan. 31, 2025, on suspicion of battery on school grounds for an incident in which he was charged with assaulting another student at Hart High School. Trujillo pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to formal diversion, taking anger-management classes and writing an apology letter to his victim.

He was later named as a suspect in a raid targeting a Newhall-based gang, according to court records obtained by The Signal, but court records do not reflect any additional charges from that incident.

An SCV Sheriff’s Station official previously indicated his arrest last week was in connection to a 2025 SCV murder case.

Homicide officials have previously indicated there’s only unsolved SCV murder from last year — a shooting that left two people dead near a Newhall home on Dewolfe Road, following the end of a Halloween party.

On Halloween night, a shooting claimed the lives of two men, who were later identified as: Elijah Harts, a 30-year-old Encino man, who died at the scene; and 27-year-old Anthony Mora, a Newhall resident.

Detectives have not announced any suspects, motives or other information available in connection to that incident.

Anyone with information about the murders can contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anyone who would prefer to provide information anonymously, can call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477), use a smartphone by downloading the “P3 Tips” Mobile APP on Google play or the Apple App Store or by using the website lacrimestoppers.org. The phone number to reach the SCV Sheriff’s Station is 661-260-4000.
