A 35-year-old man was tased after being uncooperative in the aftermath of a five-vehicle traffic collision that resulted in one transport on Oak Ridge Drive and Railroad Avenue on Sunday afternoon, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the suspect ran in a red light in his BMW, hitting a Tesla’s bumper and a Nissan that was turning left, according to Shirley Miller, spokeswoman with the station.
Miller added that the Nissan ended up hitting a Honda Accord, and the BMW also hit a Chevy SUV.
The man tried to flee the scene on foot and was being uncooperative, making deputies deploy a taser on him, Miller said.
Deputies established a containment, but the suspect did not get far, Miller added.
He was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor resisting a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, and hit-and-run, according to Miller.
