A two-vehicle head-on collision near the Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center resulted in injuries to both drivers Friday morning, with one driver extricated from her vehicle.

The crash was called in to the L.A. County Fire Department at 9:36 a.m. on San Francisquito Canyon Road, per the PulsePoint app.

One driver looked as though she had several broken bones, and the other said she was having trouble feeling her body, said a woman who works at the equestrian center but did not wish to be identified. First responder radio traffic indicated one of the drivers was extricated from her vehicle.

Both drivers appeared to be young women, and a fellow employee recognized one of the drivers, in a white truck, as an employee of a nearby business, said the Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center employee.

The other driver, in a white SUV, was wearing an Amazon uniform, she said. She added that neither vehicle appeared to have passengers.

Both vehicles had destroyed front ends and were being towed from the scene around 10:30 a.m.

The employee said she heard the crash – a few yards away from the center entrance – while in the middle of teaching a horseback riding lesson. When she went to the scene, she saw that the truck driver’s Life 360 app had already called 911.

“(It called) every single one of her family members before we walked from here to there,” she said. “It alerted them that she was in an accident, gave them the location.”

Firefighters were cleared from the scene about an hour after being called, according to the PulsePoint app.
