Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were dispatched to a significant traffic collision involving two fatalities at the intersection of north Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to an official with the station.
The two people were men, according to Sgt. R, Arambulo, with the station, who declined to give his first name.
Arambulo said that the deceased were suspected of making an illegal left turn out of the mobile home park in the area.
He added that a Los Angeles County Public Works truck was travelling westbound and hit the other car on Newhall Avenue. The man in the Public Works truck was not injured.

L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Services Detail are on the scene investigating the scene at the time of this publication, Arambulo said.
L.A. County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a call of a traffic collision with a person trapped at 6:13 a.m., according to Keith Navarre with the Fire Department.
Firefighters got on the scene at 6:20 a.m. and extricated one person, Navarre said.
Navarre added that there were three people involved and two ambulances on the scene, but no transports were reported.
Firefighters closed the call at 6:52 a.m., Navarre said.
Arambulo said that the area is closed down but did not know when it would reopen, as of the publication of this story.
