Three 16-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of felony assault after a mall fight near the arcade was caught on camera at the Valencia Town Center in February, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the station, confirmed that the three suspects and the victim were local residents during a phone interview on Thursday morning.
The incident was reported around 4:11 p.m. on Feb. 20, when the four suspects wearing black hoodies and beanies were seen fighting with the victim, sheriff’s Sgt. Ryan Elsee said during initial reports on Feb. 22.
The victim was wearing a gray sweater, Elsee added.
When deputies arrived, they could not locate the victim or the suspects. Deputies spoke with mall security and took a report on the incident, Elsee said in February.
Detectives from the Juvenile and Gang team immediately began an investigation, according to the SCV Sheriff’s Station’s social media.
The Special Assignment Team was also assisting in the investigation, according to the post.
The SAT team assisted in the arrest of the three boys on suspicion of assault March 3, the post said.
The SAT team was not available at the time of this publication for additional information.
The investigation is still ongoing, Miller added.
